The attached article is about Liver Disease and Dementia Misdiagnosis. I actually have a close friend who was diagnosed with an unspecified dementia and he lost his job, home and driver’s license due to his cognitive decline. A few years after his dementia diagnosis he was treated for Hepatitis C with one of the newer medications. He had a remarkable cognitive turnaround and he was able to get his license back and return to work. When I saw his improvement I had DW tested for Hep C hoping it might be a cause of her dementia, unfortunately it was not.

I had a work friend who seemed to be losing it cognitively and his speech became hard to follow. He had a liver transplant and bingo, he was much better cognitively.
