He’s reading the newspaper

It’s upside down.

Good morning, dementia.

My husband often brings books home from the clubhouse in our complex. He sits and looks at the books but rarely turns the page and clearly doesn't comprehend what he reads (often a few words randomly out loud). He does the same with the Triscuits box lol (one of his favorite repeated phrases is "hint of sea salt").

the newspaper may be upside down but your attitude is definitely on the upside! Hang in there.

As long as it keeps them occupied and relatively calm… then it’s a win!

My husband read the newspaper 2x a week and read every word until Alzheimer's. I miss the days of him sitting in his recliner reading the paper. He's been in Memory Care for 6 months.
