Hey @M1 I’m still here. Thank you for your thoughtfulness.

It has been a wacky week. I’ve been working part time and had to take DH with me the last few weeks 😳because our aide suddenly started practicing on the job retirement (I heard that somewhere years ago & it seems appropriate for her sitting in 1 spot for hours (not by DH!), social media immersed, clogging the toilet and leaving (early) without mentioning that minor detail, etc., etc). We eventually let her go.

The replacement HHA was turning out great the first 2 weeks — until she revealed her school starts in 1 week so she can’t cover the hours we need any more 🥵I asked the agency if they were just pulling people off the street & sending them to my house ?! Sheesh!

Well, DH has been a trooper but he’s losing weight despite eating. So the decline is visible and just bumming me out a bit.

Other than that, I’m grateful to be alive, that I don’t have dementia, and that I am able to care for DH as he navigates this bear of a disease. And especially grateful for this forum, for fellow travelers on this tough road, and especially great people like YOU!

Ugh frustrating.... Hope you can find someone consistent, it's such a problem. Glad to hear from you though. You hang in there too.....

Hi, Butterfly Wings, don't give up on getting an aide. It took us almost two years but the last year DH was at home we had a wonderful aide who truly cared about him.
