Feeling lost and overwhelmed

Hello, first time posting! My mom with dementia was hospitalized about a month ago due to severe dehydration. Since then she has moved in with my sister using the "therapeutic fib" of "your house is getting some work done." She has accepted that and perhaps we will be able to keep this fib going or maybe she will eventually get adjusted to life with my sister (she has not talked about going home in several days). The problem is about caregivers. We plan that I will be with her 2 days a week and we will get a caregiver 3 days a week. I have been visiting several times a week since she has been with my sister but she is starting to not remember who I am and is really upset that I am there. She just wants to be alone. (We have cameras on her and she sits on the couch reading all day). If she does not want me with her how is she going to do with a stranger? Does anyone have any thoughts? thanks!

You could try to say that you(or caretaker) are there to help sister with housework, etc(‘Nothing to do with you’) She may or may not accept someone else…all you can do is try. If what she wants to do is sit + read, tell her to ignore you while you ‘do your work’
