ER again

My dad fell again yesterday. It's the 3rd fall in 2 weeks. He scraped his hand pretty badly and paramedics took him to the ER when his BP was over 200/100. Hospice nurse says he's going to end up bed bound if he keeps getting up from his wheelchair and falls. Mom has been encouraging him to keep walking as much as possible. Not good. Hospice knows my Mom's MCI is going to get worse and she won't be able to take care of dad pretty soon. Once my mom is declared incompetent, I will have to step in with being POA. Mom has agreed for me to take her car and I will be driving her everywhere. I will see her 3 days a week or as needed. I am nervous about taking care of them because I need to take care of myself too. Hospice staff and my mental health team are willing to work with me to how to care for my parents.

I'm glad you are getting some help. However - you know you need to be careful and take care of yourself.

    ((hugs))

@mpang123 that is an awful lot. I am so glad you have support - and hospice. It is going to be so important to keep yourself well. Caring for one parent is a lot - for two? Extra. Im glad you have some supports in place and you can always vent here. Hopefully dad can stay in bed safely.
