I spoke to a hospice liaison and she told me steps about the process to get a home health nurse out to see my Dad whose dementia is worsening. He says he refuses ever going to a nursing home but my questions is, how do we ensure he is home when the nurse comes by?

He has a golf cart and is still cognitive at times but he hates staying home during the day. I feel like we are at a loss trying to do what’s best for him.

You usually cannot make an appointment with home health for a specific time, but you should be able specify morning or afternoon. Try to choose a time of day when he is more likely to be at home and then provide an activity he might be interested in and a snack he might like and disable the golf cart temporarily.
