    I'm wondering if you should mention it to your eldest that grandma is not quite herself and can't help the emotional outbursts. Sometimes a PWD will get agitated faster than someone who is fine, and I think often it is because lack of a 'filter'. I know with MIL there is no filter and no longer any empathy towards others. And I think that if something is getting her agitated (in your case, kids just being kids), that will only get worse.

    Could you look into adult daycare maybe a couple or few days a week, maybe?
