Merla, Estate planning is important if there's much estate, but the priorities are DPOA and medical POA and healthcare directive, and an estate lawyer won't help with those. For these a general lawyer would be better. Make sure the POAs are not "springing," that is, they go into effect immediately.

You might look for an attorney who does special needs estate planning—those same attorneys often do elder law

Your prior questions are all erased and I don't remember your whole saga but if you are going for guardianship you'll want an attorney who handles a number of them as part of their regular practice. If you think you'll get push back from others be sure to select a lawyer that has a lot of litigation practice.

I went to the courthouse and pulled files off the probate court index and read them until I got a feel for the attorneys. And how the judges responded to their motions.

Some estate lawyers have a tidy practice cranking out documents and giving terrific advise but if you're needing a fighter select one early to avoid paying for a letter war .
