Newly diagnosed MCI

My husband and I were both just diagnosed with MCI. He is showing more cognitive issues, I’m having trouble naming things and short term memory. I’m reading that MCI doesn’t necessarily advance to AD. what is the experience here with that?

Gosh, I’m sorry. Thoughts & prayers doesn’t cut it, does it? Do you have family close? I have MCI but DH does not. I read everything I could get my hands on about MCI then started a new section in my journal with memory changes, thoughts, plans, etc.

I wish I had a magic pill, but alas, not. I’d suggest reading all info, stay as positive as you can & start thinking about future plans. Again, journal all that, too. I journal to help me plan, organize & keep up with cognitive changes & remeber that that not all MCI gets worse or leads to AD. Some people never progress to full blown AD & for some symptoms go away for good.
