hi, yesterday mum found a coffee satchet in her handbag. she had no idea how it got there. i tried to reassure her as she was thinking oh did i steel it but my mother would never do such a thing. i told her what would of happen but she panicked for an hour about it and had a panicked attack and i had to give her a valium to calm her.

i wanted to kno if swropax work to help alzhimers patients sleep as mum is on a concoction of meds, anti depressants, mood stabiliser, dementia meds n so on. she likes a seropax to go to bed coz she's got the thought in her head that they are calming and help sleep but i think it could be doing the opposite. coz when she has one for bed she says she tosses n turns all night. sorry? all these questions. thnx

never heard of Seropax? But you are right to be cautious about mixing things or adding things to her medical cocktail. Over the counter does not necessarily mean safe.

edited to add: Seropax is a brand name for quetiapine, an atypical antipsychotic also known as Seroquel. Yes it’s generally good for sleep and calming, but is usually given on a scheduled basis and not “as needed.” I would discuss this with her docs, as adverse reactions do occur.

It's always best to talk to her prescribing doctor.

Or are you asking about Seropex which is a painkiller cocktail containing aceclofenac/paracetamol (acetaminophen)/serrotiopeptase?

You mention "mum" and coffee "sachet" which are not commonly used terms in the U.S.— are you from elsewhere?

As has been mentioned, it would be best to have her physician go over all of her medications.

Is she taking everything on a regular schedule? That is important, each day at the same time of day. Has her PCP prescribed most of her medications or a neurologist? Is she adding medications - over the counter - that possibly could have adverse reactions? All of this needs to be investigated.

I'm glad that you found us, and please let us know what you find out.
