My mother in law lives with my husband and I. In the evenings she believes that my husband, her son, Is her deceased husband. That prompts her to ask him to come to bed at night. When he tells her I'm not going to bed yet "MOM", she gets upset sometimes telling him she Is not his mom, other times getting very upset telling him "You just want to go sleep with her". , meaning me. It gets really bad alot of the time. She cannot accept that he Is her son even when she says he Is her son. The only thing that keeps evenings calm Is for him to sneak out and I tell her he had to go help a friend.

Welcome to the forum. This is certainly classic sundowning, and the confusing family members is also pretty common. Don't try to correct her, as you've seen it will just make her mad. Medications may help, you should talk to her doctors. Specifically the atypical antipsychotics like Seroquel and risperdal can tamp some of this down.
