My mother often sleeps late into the morning and naps throughout the day. Yes I think it's common for PWD and also, the medications definitely cause drowsiness.

My husband and I moved in with his aunt last year when we noticed she should not be living on her own anymore. I help her get ready for bed at 5:30 and she sleeps until about 8 or 9 in the morning (Sometimes until 10 or 11) and she still goes to bed again at 5:30.

My mom seems to go in cycles for days she will sleep most of the day other periods it’s regular in bed by 8 up by 7 . As long as she is content she can do whatever keeps her that way.
