Agitation and paranoia

My DH is convinced that I am leaving him for another man. I don’t know where this came from. He is very confused and hallucinating all the time. Now I am also trying to solve non-existent issues that he has imagined. He sees and talks to people in our house all the time. I know we are not supposed to argue or try to use logic, but I don’t know how else to deal with all this. If I let him think people are in the house, then he becomes even more upset. Advice please! I’m desperate!

Welcome to the forum and agree with the above. An atypical antipsychotic like Seroquel or risperdal should help. Some folks need hospitalization to get stabilized on meds, don't hesitate to take him in if you need to. Sometimes it's impossible to manage paranoia as an outpatient, particularly if he becomes aggressive.

If you haven't already, please rule out a medical issue that may be causing the problem before starting any new medication - UTI, etc.
