does anyone have in home care through their insurance and to qualify what was the medical need?

    Each policy may differ. Is this lo g term care or medical coverage? If you have agency in mind, they would check the coverage for you. Good luck.

    My husband had in home care through Medicaid. The amount was determined by ability to complete ADLs (activities of daily living). The Medicaid case manager literally had a computer program that calculated the hour allotment based on my husband's ability level.

    Medicare does not provide in home care except for a very limited time while in recovery from a hospital stay. Private insurance, other than policies specifically for longterm care, do not typically provide longterm in home care.
