I also feel this way. He is in stage 6, needs so much help. But, he knows me, he knows what he wants to do, but doesn't know how to do it. He needs constant care, and seems I cannot get a moments peace. Yes, I am burnt out. No, there is no one to help me. Yes, I try to take one day at a time, one moment at a time. No, I cannot place him, I cannot afford it. I could not do it to him, he would be so afraid. He cries often now. He knows. My heart breaks every moment of every day. Then I read these posts, and there are so many going through the same things. Some worse, some better, some not there yet and I really get sad for the later. Yes, I listen to audio books they help a lot. Especially the 36 Hour Day.

Athena 824, it sounds as if your mother may be having an issue driving. If the car is "stalling". You may want to drive with her to see exactly how she is doing. For her safety and others, it may be time to have her stop driving.

Athena, I agree with @Fesk. You also said she stopped taking her Alzheimer’s meds. If she has a dementia diagnosis on record and gets into an accident, she could be sued and lose everything.
