Humor from my PWD

Me: are you sleeping?
Her (with eyes closed) yes I am.
Me: and talking too!
Her: (eyes still closed) I’m talking and sleeping. I have many talents.

This blew my mind - she’s quite chatty but usually hard to follow. Last week the hospice intake nurse told me that most people (including her) are just hearing a word salad, that I’m understanding more of what MIL is trying to say. Kind of like interpreting for your toddler. But this was clear as a bell!

Oh, that's hilarious! Many talents, indeed.

I was going through some of my notes last night from when I was taking care of my sister, and I found this. I'd forgotten about it until last night. Made me laugh. It was back when she was getting iffy on who was alive and who had passed away.

    Peggy: Are our parents dead?

    Me: Yes.

Peggy: Oh! I didn't know! (She wasn't upset, just surprised.) Have you and (brother's name) passed away too?

    Me: No! We're both good.

Peggy: Okay. I just wanted to make sure no one else had died.

We told my mil that her sil had passes away. It had just happened. She got mad and said well you would think she (the person that passed away) would have at least called to tell me.

That's funny! My hair would turn whiter than it is if some departed relative did call me!
