Attempted suicide and does not remember

She attempted suicide this morning with a knife , struggling with staff, they sent her off to a mental hospital and now she does not remember …

Anybody experienced that ?

Wondering if Alzheimer alone is causing this or another form of dementia or mental illness

    Very sorry to hear about this. I’m glad the staff was able to intervene.

    My DH with Alzheimer’s has threatened suicide a few times, but has never had the wherewithal to try it. His geriatric psychiatrist thought it was depression in his case. He feels that way when he’s more lucid and sees what’s happening. He also forgets that he was suicidal. Now that he’s progressed in his disease, however, he doesn’t talk about it as much.

    Hopefully her psychiatrists can find a medication to help her feel a little better. ❤️
