My dad, 89 with VD, fell again. In January 2023, he broke his back, then a few months later he fell and fractured his pelvis. Then this year he fell 3 more times but with minor injuries. However, today hell fell and fractured his humerus in 2 places, fractured his right hip and femur. I think my dad can only take so much. He asked if he can stay in the hospital instead of discharging to home right away. Hospice is notified and will assess if he can have hospice care in the hospital. My dad might be giving up.

So sorry, it does sound like this could be a fatal injury.

So much pain! I think hospice and palliative care is the right path forward. So sorry!

I am dealing with something similar. Shattered hip, fractured back and broken clavicle. I don't know what the next step is and am ruminating over whether to hire a live in a bring her home for hospice. She may be bed bound now. It is horrible to be in your situation. What did you decide?
