Hospice at Home and Private Aide

Does anyone hospice at home but hired an aide to help? I am deciding what the best course of action is. It is less expensive to hire a live in and have hospice come to my home…I'm worried it will still be too much for me to handle. My mom is frail and is recovering from broken bones due to a fall. She is in pain, no longer ambulatory, and it is something that will remain, hence hospice was brought in. I was wondering how the live in worked out and how you managed the hours for that hired help.

Update - things look bad and I think she needs a higher level of care due to high level of pain. She will most likely stay at hospital hospice or go directly from the hospital to the hospice facility I have been talking to. Just waiting now to see what her body tells us what to do. My heart hurts.

I am sorry you and your mom are going through this. I hope hospice is able to keep her pain free at this time.

Sorry she's not doing well. It sounds like you have a good handle on things.

Hospice facility sounds like a good idea, both for managing her pain and for your support. I am sorry for your struggle.
