Time change

My husband is so confused and upset about the time change today. He just doesn’t understand when I explain it to him. He thinks something is going on that is bad, something is doing this to him. I thought things were going better the last 2-3 days, now this. Guess that’s the way it is. Will I ever get used to this?

I too wonder if I will ever get accustomed to the changes. One day he’s doing fairly well and the next he’s confused almost all day.

DH couldn't deal with the time change, either, thought it was a government conspiracy. During 2021 and 2022, we just kept the clocks on standard time. I was able to keep track of the accurate time for the few appointments that we had. We were basically hermits at that point anyway. After his stroke in June 2023, I told him I had to change to daylight savings time because I couldn't keep track of all of his doctor appointments. It threw him off, and he complained for weeks. Now I would give anything for him to be able to tell time at all…

It's funny that the time change was one of the first signs I had that things were REALLY wrong with my husband. At that time he was still working, and he had a hard time wrapping his mind around the change, when it had always been a non-issue. Later on I just changed the clocks when he was sleeping, and didn't mention there had been a time change.

That’s the best way. My DH doesn’t understand the time any longer or money for that matter and to make us smile … refused to get his hair cut cash out of his wallet after his last haircut. An Oldtime Barber seemed to understand; all was ok when I turned up and parted with the cash. DH thought he was being robbed, after a chat we had a bit of a laugh. Sad hey?
