wants to be massaged for hours

Anyone else experienced this? My DH wants me to massage his backs, hips, chest for hours on end. Sometimes it's the only thing that will calm him except listening to music. Is the any alternatives? Is it a phase?

Since you said "calm him" I'm guessing he is agitated if he doesn't get the massage. My wife was agitated, with different demands, and it is a lot better with resolution of her urinary tract infection and Zyprexa for agitation. You might ask his doctor to check for UTI and for meds for his symptoms.

Found this: massages can help manage symptoms associated with dementia, such as anxiety, agitation and depression. Can you hire someone to give him a daily massage? Can you redirect him? Maybe aromatherapy and music would help? Anxiety meds might help also.

Ask the doctor for some anti-anxiety. Seraquel works wonders for my DH.
