My mother was just evaluated for and accepted into hospice today. They informed me that her current hospital bed will be returned to the DME company and a different one brought in. Apparently, hospice pays for the bed. Mom has had to pay a co-pay for her current bed so this will save her about $120 a year. And we all know that every bit of savings helps!

Still not sure how I feel with all this. I have been studying and reading up on hospice for months trying to be as knowledgeable and prepared as possible. However, actually getting to this point does make the heart heavy.

I have no complaints of the hospice I have dealt with. I used them for my mom and dad. They where so helpful. Dad was at home , anything he needed or wanted they got no charge. They went above and beyond to help me. Such a blessing.
