Get me through this day!

Just venting here: The windows in our home are over 40 years old. The seals are broken on some, and others actually whistle from the draft. So after much procrastination, I decided to have them replaced. I figured they would send a couple of guys, and they would make their way through the house one room at a time and I could just move DH and stay one step ahead or behind them. Nope! There are 6 of them, the whole house is shaking from the drilling and banging. He’s hiding in his room, freaking out. Between the noise and cold (because of course it’s chilly and extremely windy today), he is so unhappy and confused. Which of course is making me freak out. I’m trying to see if I can get my BIL over here so maybe I can just get him out for a ride, but not sure I can make that happen. It’s going to be a loooong day, aarrggh!

    Camp Carol!

I feel for you guys! As this would have made my husband anxious and angry as he thought he could handle all the home’s projects and would have stressed about the cost. (He did replace our windows one at a time a long time ago). At least it won’t take days to get the project done. I hope your BIL comes over and you can get out of Dodge. How nice it will be, though, to have new windows this winter. Good luck!

I can certainly sympathize. I guess on the brighter side is the fact they will get it done faster with 6 working at once. I’m trying to get some much needed work done on my house.

that’s an awful situation we had 1 door replaced and that was enough for my DH to get agitated, didn’t trust the tradesman etc. I feel for you is there a shopping centre you could go and wander round for a few hours, or someone to visit? I know both are almost all mpossible especially friends. Perhaps if the workers understood they could finish one room and you could shut yourselves in. I feel for you hopefully it will be over soon with a nice result.

Oh no. The good thing is they will be done fast (hopefully, one day). Your husband will probably have forgotten all about it tomorrow I hope. I was lucky when we had our windows replaced. For some reason, it did not bother my mother at all. I was not expecting that. Everything is always so stressful.

Thank you all for your well wishes! Murphy’s law had to jump in today…one of the workers got injured and had to go to the hospital, and another had to drive him (he is ok, thankfully!). As such, they weren’t able to finish so I now have an encore performance to look forward to on Friday (another aarrggh). I did everything I could to get him out of the house today, and he refused to budge. He was up the whole time watching under blankets from his chair 🤷‍♀️. He’s now out cold in bed, and I hope he stays that way for a while so I can relax a bit. Again, thank you all for your support…it really means the world knowing you’re all here!
