We took a nap
When I got to MC this afternoon, DH was lying in bed. I teased him about being in bed all day and he said he had just gotten there and was tired. I usually sit on the edge of his bed and visit with him and then try to get him up. Today, kind of on a whim, I got his extra pillow and crawled in beside him. The bed is small but we both fit. He put his arm around me and I got to snuggle up close and close my eyes and just relax for awhile. It felt so good to lie next to him. I think he enjoyed it, too. It was so comfy that I might have dozed off for a little bit. I think we will both sleep soundly tonight.

That’s great! I sure it was very comforting for both of you. I think about lying down with DW but have not done so yet. She is usually about and about when I visit but occasionally she is sleeping. You may have given me the nudge to try it the next time she is lying down when I visit.

how lovely to read of your DH with his arm around you and snuggle time beautifully said. Today I am very tired and I cried when I read this. For the last few nights my DH has been waking up from about 1 o’clock in the morning very restless and then getting up at 4.30 wandering around the house and even having a shower. He is safely locked in the house but I still don’t sleep, one ear always listening. This morning he woke our puppy as well as me, I took the puppy out for toilet walk then in a very tired grumpy mood got back into bed with the puppy who was delighted and snuggled up next to me. I felt sad and angry when dawn finally broke. Just exhausted.

I used to lie down with my mother sometimes when she was in NH. I reminded me of nap time when I was very small. She liked it when I held her hands, too. She had arthritis and cold hands, and my hands warmed her. One of the last sentences she was able to say was "I like this" with a big smile.
thanks for the memory.

My mom often did this when dad was in MC. I think it was comforting to them both.
