my wife can't stop crying all day

My wife just cries all day long, the reasons change and I don't believe they are the reason. If it's stopped it will start back up when she is asked to do something. Any caregiver with this experience I'd be grateful to hear from

    Welcome to the board, sissyhaas.

My wife did that to the point that tears were running off her chin. She had a urinary tract infection, which resolved with an antibiotic. I suggest you tell her PCP what's going on and ask them to do a urinalysis to check for a UTI.

In my case, she is also now taking small doses of an antidepressant and of an antipsychotic for agitation. But I would check out the UTI first.

Incessant crying can happen with dementia. I would speak to her doctor about medications to help. It would probably help her quality of life, and those around her as well.

This is what caused us to start mom on anxiety and depression medications a few years ago. It took a few tries to get the right combination. She still wasn’t happy, but the crying stopped.
