Food ideas

My SO 46yo with EOA was a good eater. To the point that after eating a big meal and hour later he would be snacking on something. He was also a BIG Mt. Dew drinker. In the last month or so he hasn't drank any soda and has lost a bit of weight. However he also doesn't eat much like he used to. I know that his appetite will decrease with this ugly diagnosis. He only wants cinnamon toast crunch as his cereal choice. His caregiver will make him pb and j and he will snack on it thru the day. He will state that he is hungry and I offer to make him whatever he wants. Sometimes he will eat it and sometimes not. I will offer protein shakes. I will even feed him if I have too. He isn't withering away but this is not my "always hungry growing boy" me and the whole family know.

We are all in this together 💜

Is he on Aricept? That can decrease the appetite a bit.

I try to get nutritious foods into my LO by adding them to the foods she likes. For example, I would add a sliced banana or some nuts and berries to the cereal if she would eat it that way. It's a trial and error process.

Not drinking soda is a good thing, probably. I love them but I don't think they are good for me.
