Hi Matt - so sorry for your loss, for both you and your mom.

I would suggest some therapy, or a support group for those who have lost a loved one. Is there a pastor you could really talk to? Maybe even something for depression. It doesn't even have to be permanent, but just so you can get back on your feet again.

    Sorry for your loss.
Losing someone we love is hard, but I think when we also as the caregiver there is a degree of relief from the caregiving that may bring on guilt along with the feeling of great loss. Guilty of feeling relieved of duty of taking care of a loved one is frustrating. We are human and will experience death in lots of ways. Know that whatever you feel is okay as long as you don’t dwell on it. Feel, acknowledge it and tell yourself it’s okay things will get better. When I lost my son I felt like I had a huge gapping sore and didn’t want to go out, but taking some time I was able to. It was hard but eventually you will get back to yourself. Prayers for peace and comfort.
