Hi my mom was diagnosed with both alzheimer/ dementia. Several yrs ago. Its getting worst. I placed her in a facility over a year ago. I hate it. I decided to bring her home. Im so overwhelmed with this journey it is very emotional. Im hoping talking to other caregivers will help me cope.

Welcome Annettes! I'm so sorry you are having to deal with this. It is always so tempting to bring them home. Once they're in a facility we can forget all the reasons we placed them in the first place, and they sound so pitiful asking can't they just come home. But then once they're back home we can remember why we placed them. If the first facility had serious problems you might want to visit some other places, but if it was just the emotional impact of placement you may be able to return her to the same place.

ty so much, yes its the impact, i dont think she will be on this earth very long, so i rather her final days be with me, the good part about it is, she is approved for home health aide, so someone will be here 12 hrs a day 7 days a week, yes if i bring her home, and things take a toll, they will accept her back
