hello I am new to the group

I am asking for help for anyone who would know how I could go about this. My husband has been diagnosed for 6 years but was in a fog for 3 years before that before we go the diagnosis. He is moderate to severe state, cannot drive, dress himself, walks with walker and not good at that, has trouble with speech. He was a public speaker for this diagnosis. I had to retire to care for him. I want to get a walk in shower as ours is very small and he can barely manuever around it. It is a step over one. Does anyone know of any grants available for assistance to pay for one. They are almost 8-10k to get a new one. I just need to have the tub removed and to add a few more tiles , I already had plumbing and fixtures added last year. IF anyone knows please let me know. I want to keep him with me as long as I can and not put him in a home, but it is getting very difflecult. Also assistance with purchasing diapers would be helpful . If not free, at least well discounted. Thanks for any assistance

If you qualify this may help. I just searched for it. Also contact your state council on aging. https://www.rd.usda.gov/programs-services/single-family-housing-programs/single-family-housing-repair-loans-grants-6

hi Desi, if you state has PACE programs, try reaching out to your local program, I had an extremely positive experience enrolling my DW in our local program. We received medications, in home day care, diapers, wipes, pads, coordinated health care and regular visits with her GeriPsych. On MC, they helped offset the cost of MC, though I only used it for 4 months, opting to bring her back home with increased in home day care so I could care for her at home.

See if you can get him out on hospice. They will pay for the Depends.
