My mom just shit on the floor. Completely missed the toilet. I am trying to get her medical insurance figured out but it's been difficult to get through to social services. We can't afford a house cleaner and we can't afford a full-time caregiver. I am a single mom and a student. I don't have time for this.

I guess I just wanted to vent and cry before I go clean up my mom's diarrhea. Thanks for listening.

oh my I’m so sorry for you. I would contact area agency on aging and your elder affairs. If you have the bandwidth look into Medicaid LTC waiver. If approved your mom can get many in home services or help to pay for a facility. Is there any other family to help you? Medical insurance will not be a help. Prayers for help.

    Hi,

Sorry you’re going thru this. I have heard a black toilet seat can help with distinguishing where the toilet is.

A number of times I have needed to call 911 when my husband either fell or needed to get to the emergency department. The firemen on 2 of those occasions asked if they could refer me to a county office for help. This is for people they consider vulnerable. (1st time they reported him as vulnerable, 2nd time, it was for me) Perhaps a call to your local fire station can get you connected to help. I'm in Seattle WA and it's a county office here.

I’m so sorry! The bowels are a difficult situation. My mom’s not missing the toilet, just wiping poop into her private area resulting in non stop UTI’s. Go ahead and cry! And vent! I’ve cried twice today! Love to you all going through this nightmare.
