Hi I am new here and have questions

My mom has had dementia now since 2014. She is in a Dementia group home. I am struggling with the dementia and not sure how to handle it. She just lays in her bed all the time and never walks. She is always miles away when I talk with her. When she has physical issues like a bladder infection she does not tell the staff but she complains to me, so I am making the calls to doctors and her staff. She is now showing signs of just laying in bed absent minded. I am struggling emotionally. Is it normal for dementia patients to say they are okay as a response to everything when its now? Is it normal when you ask that question there is no expression when responding? I know each one is individual and I wish I had counseling on this where I live there is none. Thanks

Every family handles the dementia of a loved one differently as every patient is different. A great resource should be the nursing staff, especially the nursing assistants. They may know your mom’s habits, routines, etc.
