F&$! Dementia

I sometimes have a mouth of a sailor, but seriously, to hell with this cruel disease.

Woke up at 5am with poop all over the bathroom floor and it all over my DW’s legs. She’s so confused and doesn’t know why it’s happening. So bowel incontinence has started.

I wish I could pull dementia out of her and kick its awful, mean ass. I hate it with every cell in my body.

Ugh! I haven’t quite reached that point yet, but I have had to clean up after accidents with DH. I’m sorry this is happening. I also have the mouth of a sailor at times when I’m screaming in my car alone. For some reason it helps. Take care.

I'm finding words i never before uttered are flying into my head, and sometimes out of my mouth, surprising even me. I don't know why it helps, but it does. I have been able to never let my DH think it's directed at him or anything he has done. I do still have some control over it. :)

I wish I could say they'd never flown out of my mouth before! Haha. Definitely not ever at my DW, but my car sure has heard a lot of words I don't often say in public!

I understand the mouth of a sailor this is B awful. My DH still isn’t incontinent and I’m dreading it. Here’s a laugh my wonderful amazing skipper, I remember on one race around the buoys when told I wasn’t quick enough on the winch I threw the winch handle at him, it went overboard, there was so much loud strong flamboyant language being thrown around. What a laugh I now often use the same language firing it at this disease venting my frustration.

Cindy, I wish I could give you a big hug. Waking up to that would make anyone cuss. There have been so many times when I have silently screamed obscenities in my head or out loud when alone and I don't normally talk that way! It's this awful disease! Even now with DH in MC, there are still times when I want to scream and shake my fist at Alzheimer's! Wishing you a better day today.

Poop is the worst. I'll never get used to cleaning it up. If swearing helps, got for it!

Poop is absolutely the worst! My DH is pretty much double incontinent now, and even though he is in MC, I do my fair share of cleaning him up. Sometimes the aides are busy with other residents, and I am willing to help out. It is so mind numbingly sad to see someone who was always so clean and stylish covered in poop and being completely helpless to to anything about it. I hate dementia, too, and I have used words that I never thought I would when confronting that mess. Be kind to yourself - whatever helps us get through the day!

Curse away my friend. I want to go to the top of a mountain and scream a BIG "eff youu to this awful disease. (My dh is 45 with this disease) You are not alone. We are here for you. And scream into the pillow. It helps me ((hugs))

We are all in this together 💜
