My father has been diagnosed with MS ALZ and it is clear that the disease is progressing rapidly. What do folks do when the families cannot afford in home care or facility care? His insurances only will cover certain things. He cannot be home alone anymore. Any tips/advice would be appreciated so much we are desperate 😔

Hi ltatro2k18 - welcome to 'here', but sorry for the reason.

Depending on what stage he is in, you can get a hospice evaluation. You don't need a doctor's permission, and the diagnosis of dementia is a different hospice category than someone else who is terminally ill.

You can check to see if he qualifies for medicaid, with look-back period and financials. There are facilities that will take medicaid patients.

Sorry you are dealing with 'this'.
