Always feeling guilty and I feel guilty about that too!

This disease is so terrible and leaves you feeling guilty no matter your best efforts. Mom is in AL and my brother and I each visit a few times a week. It breaks my heart that she is always in tears and saying “i just want you to stop moving me”. We never argue but try to say we are working on it or simply I am sorry. I am starting to just say I am sorry because when I say we are working on it she gets more aggravated.
She has lately been getting very sarcastic about many things. When we were walking the halls yesterday she commented every time we passed certain things like “well there is that wreath that is there everywhere I go”. It seems to really set her off but she walks halls all the time for exercise.

Mood swings and tears just break me and I feel like I should do more but she also doesn’t remember people visiting.

Sorry to vent but I am overwhelmed. I am doing an Alzheimers support group but I also feel bad there because others have it so much worse. I know this is not about me- it is about my wonderful Mom and I am blessed she knows who I am and is not aggressive. I thank God for that every time I visit but this is so hard.

Don't feel bad about venting. We understand!

Tell her doc about the mood swings and agitation, though. Could just need a tweak in the meds.

And yes - it is hard to see our LO no longer themselves. ((hugs))
