my mom has dementia since 2016 for the past 2 months she has been declining fast. Now she can't stay still and walks out of the house. WHat medications is everyone using to keep her calm.

Welcome to 'here' but sorry for the reason. A lot would depend on what stage she may be in, what meds she may already be on, and any other medical conditions there may be.
What can work for MIL, may not be right for your mom. It would be best to tell her doc about these new developments.
