Unexpected peaceful moment

I just wanted to share with those who would understand. Tonight, I had one of those truly unanticipated moments of peace and dare I say joy? After getting DH into bed, I poured myself an adult beverage, stepped out onto the patio, sat in my chair, and listened to the wind blowing in the trees (it’s really gusting here in North Texas and more dust tomorrow I understand) with the wind chimes tinkling in the breeze. It took me so by surprise…I was actually feeling okay, more than okay, in those minutes. Such a little thing, but what a big thing for me. You go through the day doing all the minute but necessary things to keep the house running, your loved one fed, clean, content and never seem to have any real time to just BE. Maybe there’ll be some more moments like this. I’ll have to look for them, I guess. I hope you all can have some here and there too.

I throw out a bucket of corn feed and sit on the back deck and watch the turkey and deer. It’s amazing how nature can calm me after a hard day of doctor appointments with my DH. I understand completely.
