Clothing for Stage 6-7?

My DH is stage 6, I’ve switched to pull up pants instead of button up. They are easier to get on and off. I’ve been going through his clothing, he was such a fashion fanatic and has a great wardrobe, but should I let the button up pants, shorts go? Has anyone felt at this stage that button ups are better for any reason?

What does your DH want to wear? If he has a choice try to support it. If he does not seem to care, I would go with what is easiest for you. You have enough to deal with at this stage, be deliberate about where you focus your time and energy.
My DW was always so well dressed. It took a while for me to accept that she does not care anymore. It is sad when I walk into our closet and see all those nice clothes she will never wear again.

Exactly how I feel. He used to love to dress nicely, now he doesn’t know the difference between the sweat type pants and the button ups. It does make me sad. So hard to let go of the man I used to know. But yes the pull ups are easier now.

Dress him the way that is easiest for you. My wife preferred to wear blue jeans, but they made it difficult to change her, especially when I had to put her in diapers. I switched her to skirts, which made it a lot easier for her. One of the hardest things for caregivers to learn is to do whatever makes their job easier.

I think the pull on pants are much easier for my DH. He had on occasion searched through the closet and grabbed some zip fronts and wanted to wear them. But he ended up putting them on top of the pull on pants. 😞 Once I found some athletic pants he really likes, that stay up, and are thin enough to wear in Florida, I bought several pairs of black ones. I have since hid the other pants and he never brought them out again. I can’t bring myself yet to get rid of them though.

I know how you feel. I’m not ready to give up anything that is “his”.
Yes he is in diapers too, that’s the reason I switched to pull ups.0 -
Plenty of time to clean out the closets later.
I see no reason to wear clothing that is hard to put on and remove. I know an elderly widower who eats at the diner twice a day. He wears "athleisure" suits and slippers, and a vest with many pockets to carry his wallet etc. When the arthritis in my hands gets bad enough, I will do the same. It is a blessing to be able to hook your thumbs in the waistband and shuck them down, rather than mess with zippers and buttons.
