Just throwing this out there as food for thought….if any of you are caring for a loved one that is going through any issues related to AD and do not have individual life insurance, be sure YOU protect yourself and your loved ones for future health issues. Get an individual life policy that will potentially cover expenses, even with LTC riders if you find that it is beneficial. Once you are diagnosed, there's nothing truly available. Those life options that are no health questions have lots of terms and conditions, so be sure to look at those in great detail. Group life is very pricey to convert at higher age brackets. Encourage everyone you know to have "something" for planning in the future. The younger the better, the healthier the better.

Totally agree with you. If you’re healthy, term insurance is so affordable. 10 years ago both my DW and I bought 500K policies for each of us with the right to extend our coverage later with no questions on our current health. Of course the rates change based on our current age when we extend the policy. I just extended her policy to age 85. She is 55 years old and was diagnosed with EOAD three years ago.
