Hospice qualification

Thanks to all of you who responded to my recent request for information about hospice. I took your advice and worked with his doctor, and yesterday he qualified. It isn't about how long he will live, since no one knows that, but about his level of compromise. Even though nothing has happened yet, I feel immensely relieved that there are other people who will be watching him. No return to memory care or hospital visits. As they put it, instead of calling 911 I call them. I think things will be easier now.

    Happy to hear you have Hospice on board. We have had them since last July and they have helped to much. One part of hospice that isn’t always mentioned is they have volunteers who will stay with your LO for an hour or two a week which allows you to make appointments or run errands. Our first volunteer was absolutely wonderful and we just lost him, as he is entering medical school. We are now being set up with another volunteer and hoping it goes as well as our first.
