Period of inactivity

My DH sat down in a chair in our den the other night at 8:30 and sat there with his eyes open and didn’t move for 6 1/2 hours. I checked on him every hour and ask if he wanted to go to bed and I could tell what I was saying wasn’t registering with him. At 3:00 am he finally would get up and go to bed. Has anyone else experienced an episode like this. I have had him do that before but only for maybe fifteen or twenty minutes, not for hours.

Is he on hospice yet? If not, I would suggest getting him evaluated. Unless you still want him to get all medical treatment. If that’s the case, then call an ambulance next time- he’s possibly having a stroke or a silent seizure.

He is under hospice care and I spoke to the nurse about it, but they seemed puzzled. His vitals are okay etc.

yes my husband did it several times. Almost like he was sleep walking or in a trance. I told the neurologist and she didn’t seem concerned. He also had episodes where his blood pressure spiked and he got dizzy, sweaty and nauseous. They took him to the ER and did CT scan and found nothing. I believe it was the disease affecting the part of his brain that affected those things.i would call the doctor or have him taken to the ER to rule out things just in case.

I'm glad you mentioned the episodes of spiking BP, dizzy and sweating. My DW has those too and we haven't been able to determine why. All the medicos just listen and nod their heads but offer no explanations. Yours is the the first reference I have seen to the condition.
