CAREGIVERS, WE CAN TRUST THE LORD

Psalm 91:14-15 Easy-to-Read Version

14 The Lord says, “If someone trusts me, I will save them.

I will protect my followers who call to me for help.

15 When my followers call to me, I will answer them.

I will be with them when they are in trouble.

I will rescue them and honor them.

YOUR JOURNAL

Write a about a time when you or someone you know were close to disaster but were spared. Do you count this as luck or the work of the Lord? Why?

MEDITATION

I personally do not believe in luck. Since I’m a follower of the Lord, I believe he is always with me and my loved ones. I still remember when He did save my mother and I both from disaster one day.

My mother had severe dementia. She couldn’t speak, move or do anything for herself. I rolled her onto our deck in her wheelchair. I figured just a few minutes of bright sun would be good for her. In the meantime, I went back inside to do something (don’t remember what). It had to be about 30 minutes or more when suddenly I remembered my mother and panicked. I ran outside to find her body hot and her face red from the intense sunshine. I quickly brought her inside and probably gave her a cold drink to cool her. Thank the Lord, she didn’t have heatstroke. Thank the Lord, He reminded me.

PRAYER

Lord, I praise You for Your unfailing love. I trust You care for me and those I love. Sometimes we may not know how close we come to trouble, but You rescue us. Thank you! May my love and devotion for You grow stronger. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
