Has anyone heard about ivermectin for treating dementia? My sister told me about reading that it was very helpful but my searches only show that ivermectin does not help dementia. Thanks

I would trust your research. I am sure your sister means well but there is a lot of misinformation out there that can harm as well as raise false hope.

There is lots of misinformation online that this anti-parasitic medicine treats all kinds of things. There is not research to back it up. If you or your dog or horse have a parasite, go for the ivermectin but beyond that it's mostly noise.

I will just tack on to what others have said. There is a lot of misinformation out there. My uncle told me CBD gummy’s would cure mom’s dementia. They mean well, but probably see one deceptive add or infomercial, do no more research and think they have the answer. If only it were that easy. I know nothing about Ivermectin. I would just be cautious. Coming to this group for input is a great idea.

Thank you for your comments and suggestions. There has been a lot of hype about Ivermectin curing a wide range of ailments and diseases. I agree that I can trust it for parasites, but I have a lot of skepticism when it comes to dementia.
