I’m new to the group, and this is my second post. I’ve read many of the past discussions, and one of the messages stood out to me: Take each day as it comes and recognize small joys.

Yesterday, I caught myself smiling. We have a goldfish pond, and I briefly caught a glimpse of a goldfish baby dart from under a rock to another rock.

What small joys did you all experience yesterday?

Maybe we can help each other smile a bit.

Nice idea! We’re seeing a few bunnies in our yard and yesterday saw a little baby one. I love animals so that brings me joy. Also, I learned how to unfreeze the garbage disposal! 🙂

I use a journaling app and set up a template with sections for Daily Joys and Challenges. Makes me think of both categories every time I make an entry.

I checked out a library book that was last checked out in 1974. I felt some camaraderie with that long-ago reader.

I have been wanting to attend a memory cafe with my DH but have been unable to find one in my area. I talked the library where I work into having a memory cafe at the library. The first one was yesterday. It was a great success. Several people with their PWD attended and everyone said they had a great time. To me one of the best parts was seeing several people exchanging phone numbers. That made me smile.

Picking huckleberries and listening to the birds sing while a woodpecker was pecking away on a tree.

My two blueberry bushes have yet unripe berries, but catbirds, robins, and cardinals have been keeping an eye on them. This morning a catbird was plucking some berries. Hey, they're not even blue yet, stupid!

My dog calling for the neighbor dog to come out. Her bounding toward him, then the two of them saying hello at the fence.

I watched an old Super Password All-Star game show with host Bert Convey, contestants Lucille Ball, Carol Channing, Betty White and Dick Martin, playing for charities. They were so smart and so hilarious, I couldn't help but laugh.

Little screech owl calling from the big ol’ pecan tree outside my bedroom window at 3 am. Lovely.
