From Kerrville, I Thank You ALL for your Thoughts and Prayers

Greetings everyone. My family and I are safe and accounted for. I'm sure you are aware of the tremendous damage in Central Texas. The loss of life is unimaginable and heartbreaking.

I am grateful to everyone who has reached out. Your thoughts and prayers lift me up and keep me going. The community and I sincerely feel the love and support.

I live in the City of Kerrville, Kerr County, very close to the Lowry Trailhead. Around 5:30 Friday morning I heard police sirens. It was still dark outside. I walked around the block and observed that Guadalupe Street was flooding. Before 7am the police went door to door on my street telling us to evacuate. My parents and I safely evacuated to my sister's home which is on a high hill. When I returned, around 7pm I found my home was safe and I had utilities. Many in my neighborhood were much less fortunate. Homes are damaged and destroyed. People and pets are missing. My young neighbor was badly injured and hospitalized. Three of his family members are still missing. My family is safe and none of us were physically harmed. I am blessed and I am beyond grateful.

The flooding, the damage and loss have been devastating and difficult for me to process. As things settle a bit and I catch my breath and collect my thoughts, I will write again.

A horrible weather event for sure. Thank you for letting us know you /your family are ok. Every time I get stuck or stumble with a momentary problem, I think of your gratitude lists to get me through. I do hope you are getting some rest with your continued caregiving.
