Progression and caregiver changes

DH continued to decline with the rivastigmine and has developed significant hallucinations and a persistent delusion about a dead friend who isn't dead. The companion who had been with him almost a year quit because he couldn't tolerate DH's rants and accusations. He was started on Trazodone and Buspirone due to his cardiac disease but that wasn't enough to chill him out after a couple of months. So now, he's on Seroquel. I found a new caregiver who starts tomorrow and has more experience. Pray for us. My S-I-L and I are taking a trip with him this week.

I toured another memory care last week that I liked. I'm actually filling put the app for future needs.

thanks for the update. Hope the new meds work well for your DH and hope the trip goes well. Good to be prepared with the MC facility. 💜

this is so hard. Glad you are taking a trip. Seroquel did wonders for my mom. Maybe she’s a bit less alert but it is worth the reduced anxiety and depression by a mile.

finding a good MC takes time. I’m glad you found one, if/when you need it.
