Lost My Sister June 25, 2025

My sister finally went home to the Lord on June 25, 2025 after a valiant battle with this insidious disease for at least five years, likely more.

She would have been 60 on July 17. We had thought about having her memorial on her 60th birthday, but couldn't quite get it together.

So the memorial is July 30, just a few days away, and I'm a wreck. Tonight I sat in her favorite chair watching Funniest Home Videos (she loved that show), hugging her urn and bawling my eyes out.

I just don't know what to do without her.

Please accept my deepest condolence. Your loss is real. Your void is real. Your emotions are appropriate. Feel all of them! In due time, you will find that recalling memories of her are more pleasant than painful. After awhile, you will actually find joy and laughter again. Until then, feel all your feelings. 💔

I'm so sorry, Marp. I lost my sister a little more than a year ago, also to this disease. She wasn't as young as your sister, but still, she was only 64. Early onset is a bear.

I'm seeing this on July 29, so your sister's memorial is tomorrow. I hope everything goes smoothly and that it helps to bring you peace.

I'm just seeing this now; I know from reading above that the memorial is today. I hope you are ok and that the service will give you a little bit of closure. My DH passed just over a month ago, and I find myself spending a lot of time in his chair. It brings me comfort, and I understand how you're feeling in her chair as well. Please accept my sincere condolences. Sending lots of hugs, thoughts and prayers your way!
