Explaining The Disease To Children

DW was diagnosed EOA two years ago. We have an adopted 9-year-old granddaughter who lives with us. I have tried my best to explain the disease to her, but she doesn’t get it. She resents the time I have to spend with DW. She gets mad at her grandma when grandma asks the same question repeatedly. They argue constantly over little things. ‘Just agree and let it go’ and ‘you can’t reason with her because her reasoner is broken’ don’t work. Are there any resources for a situation like this? Any books or videos. Thanks.

There are many children's books on the subject.

I'd try to find her a counselor to talk to.

Books. Your local library may have some to get you started. Ask the librarian what they have that will be helpful.
