Mother won't stop walking

Options

Hi, a week ago my mother began walking non stop. She sits or gets in bed and is up in a minute. One day she walked for 22 hours straight, no sleep. She is 101! I am exhausted. Has anyone experienced this and any ideas on what to do?

p.s. the drs. prescribed Haldol, Lorazepam, Seroquel, Doxepin and nothing worked

A few days before my Dad passed from FTD, he stayed awake all night in his hospital bed doing stomach crunches and bicycling his legs. He was 92. No medications could stop him.

So sorry about your Mom. it’s very common. It’s called pacing. Medications don’t help and just increase the risk of falling. One post on another forum said they got their Dad a baby doll and rocking chair and that stopped the pacing. If you can’t get it stopped you will need help so you can sleep.
