Lost partial denture - what about eating?

My wife lost her partial (upper only) dentures. It's been about 10 hours now.

She has had new partial made but she can't get them for at least another week. The center she goes to has the dentist on Fridays only.

I have several teeth missing, both top and bottom, and it doesn't bother me to eating soft or hard food. I do not know if my wife should non-soft food with all of her uppers missing (she had all of her bottom teeth).

She may need to stick to soft foods for now.

My husband lost his top teeth and is unable to wear a denture. I bought a small food processor and we just grind his meat.
    It works out just fine.

    Hi Damiross,

With my wife (Stage 6), anything wearable other than clothing does not work. About the time she entered Stage 5, I found that earrings, finger rings, dentures, necklaces, hair bands, and eye glasses were no longer feasible. This would also apply to hearing aids if she had ever worn them. She was losing these items, and with the onset of Stage 6, trying to eat them.

As this disease progresses, I have learned to work around or do without these items. It is not just items either; there are many medical tests and routines that we must (gently) release.

    Always, Bill_2001

As a follow-up, the partial was found. I have cameras throughout the apartment. After figuratively slapping my forehead, I replayed the video. I located the partial a few minutes later.

She lost it a again a couple of days later. This time, it was just out of camera range. I bought a couple of more cameras so all of the apartment (except bathrooms) are under surveillance.
