Sigh. My poor DW. She so much wants to tell me things and express her thoughts and she just cannot say it. Seeing her struggle and trying so hard is just killing me right now. I know it's not rational, but I wish that I could make it all better.

I’m right there with you! It really is so sad and frustrating for us both. Sometimes I just have no answer for the weird questions I get. It’s exhausting trying to translate it at least come up with an answer that will make sense to him.

Oh CondyBum I am in the same place word salad from my extraordinarily wonderful DH and tears from me. It’s awful DH wants so badly to tell me stuff I soooo badly want to hear it and I can no longer even work it out. I weep for him and for me. It’s totally not fair. My heart is breaking. I so understand.

So sorry Cindy! I know what you’re feeling! As hard as we try to decode the word salad…. It’s so painful and exhausting for both of us, my wife as she struggles to find the words, me trying to guess- both of us failing. Ugh

I never felt so helpless in my life when it got to the point that I couldn't understand what DH was trying to tell me. We both cried, it was heartbreaking. I feel for all of you, be strong and hang in there!!

Thank you all. It helps so much to know I'm not alone, while it also breaks my heart knowing each of you is in this damn dementia boat. I'm stiffening my spine this morning for another day of frustration and sadness. I will make it through this and you all will be part of the reason why.
